The City of Hamilton, and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 107 which represents HSR bus operators,
mechanics and other transit workers have been working together at the bargaining table to reach a negotiated
contract settlement. Both the City and ATU will be in a legal strike/lockout position at 12:01 am on
December 19, 2019.
The City and the ATU will go back to the bargaining table on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
The City of Hamilton remains hopeful that a negotiated settlement can be reached.
In the event of a labour disruption, there would be no HSR transit service on any route throughout the city.
Students who take HSR will need to find their own transportation to and from school.
Details about service impacts will be communicated extensively before a potential labour disruption occurs.
