Welcome to the Hamilton-Wentworth Student Transportation Services (HWSTS)
website!
HWSTS was formed by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School
Board and the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and is responsible for
the provision of Safe, Effective and Efficient transportation services to
eligible students for both Partner Boards.
Our organization provides student
transportation services to approximately 28,000 students and 170 individual
schools throughout the district. We utilize a number of transportation modes
that includes traditional yellow-and-black school buses, school purpose vans and
the Hamilton Street Railway Transit. Our current school-purpose fleet size is
approximately 460 vehicles that travel approximately 35,000 kilometres daily
during the school year.

Empty Seat/Courtesy Transportation Requests
Empty/Courtesy seats may be granted if there is space on an existing bus run. These are administered through an application process. Requests
for courtesy transportation must be submitted to the school, by the parent/guardian each year using the Courtesy/Empty Seat request form. Requests are
assessed in October after all ELIGIBLE students are assigned and operational issues are resolved.
First Time Rider
If you have a child starting JK or SK, you will want to take advantage of our First Rider program. You can attend an in-person demonstration that includes a bus ride or you may opt to take your child through the on-line program.
